Remember Mitch & Cristin from their incredible Gatineau Park engagement session? Well let me just give you a heads up- their wedding was 20X better!

These two lovebirds started off my 2018 season with a beautiful bang in Oshawa, Ontario.
'Parkwood estate is Canada's finest and last remaining estate. This 15,000 square foot, 55-room mansion was built between 1915 and 1917. The art, architecture, gardens, landscaping and original furnishings are all faithfully preserved in this National Historic Site.' (https://www.parkwoodestate.com/)

As always, I only ever shoot on 35mm film at weddings. As an exclusive film photographer, I have never used a digital camera. This is my love, and my speciality. Every single image you see in this blog post was shot on 35mm kodak portra film using my favourite Nikon cameras (FM2 & FE) with 35mm and 50mm Nikkor lenses.

I am more convinced now than ever; Weddings were meant to be on film!

The ceremony was held under a lovely outdoor tent, and the reception was indoors at Tosca event centre in Oshawa, Ontario.

I always bring a second shooter to weddings, and yes, they do work with digital cameras. It is necessary for me to bring a second shooter to cover extra angles, assist me, and to have a backup in case a roll of film doesn't turn out. Often times I use my second shooter to cover any large group shots, dinner table shots, and speeches to save on film. The gallery that is delivered to clients is usually about a 70/30 split of my images on film mixed with my second shooters work that has been edited to match my style.

If you are looking into my work for your own special day, I would be happy to show you a sample wedding gallery!
