My name is Kris (he/they) and I can't wait to meet you!
I am a queer artistic photographer who values good contrast in lighting, precious candid moments, beautiful creative details, and kind, loving, authentic connection.
I want to make you feel seen, at ease, and understood. You will be able to experience your moments of joy in full with me around.
Using traditional film photography methods, I will help you create art from your precious moments.
I create artistic, heartfelt images using analog film, a medium that feels both timeless and deeply engaging. Film photography captures memories with an authenticity and romantic softness that brings your special day to life long after it’s over.
I’ve been working with 35mm film for over 15 years, and it remains at the heart of my practice. I’m deeply drawn to the way film highlights light, texture, and a sense of tactility, and it’s an approach I have no intention of leaving behind. Coming from a background in abstract and fine art photography, those influences still naturally carry through in my work. Having worked solely with film, I bring a level of experience that comes from years of intentional practice. This allows me to approach light thoughtfully and confidently, rather than treating film as an occasional supplement or package add on.
I am a very detail oriented shooter and you can count on me to capture beautiful little elements that most people glance past. If allowed to be creative, much of my work will include strange closeups of details, lens flares, and other extreme lighting situations. I’m a huge fan of weird and funky film stocks that highlight the imperfect, and hope you are too!
On a Personal Level
I am trans and value connecting with myself and my body through my work. Portraiture has been huge in exploring gender.
I believe portraiture is extremely important and that leaving behind quality images reflective of a person’s soul is necessary, not an option.
I practice this often with my own self portraits at home and out on adventures.
Outside of photography?
you’ll often find me catching every sunset I can and hanging out in nature
Free time is spent at an art gallery, curled up with a good book, or working on projects.
I am a maker at heart and have completed a Carpentry Apprenticeship with big dreams for my future home.
Perhaps most important; I’m a cat guy.
On My Clients;
My new friends
I work with a wide variety of people, who seem connected in their appreciation of creation or art in some way, and who aim to live a uniquely truthful and authentic existence. I mesh incredibly with people who aren't afraid to try something creative, my best work arises when we are open with each other, and trust in the process is given.
Love stories seriously get me. I have found such inspiration and gratitude in the folks I have the pleasure of photographing. I adore connecting with my clients through hearing their stories, there is nothing better to me than your excitement and willingness to tell me more about yourself and your partner(s).
Being a kind and open human with a big heart, I promise you a fun and accepting attitude will surround our work together. I was the kid who never had friends, grew up to be queer, and developed an intense awareness of awkwardness and empathy in adulthood as a result.
I understand both first hand, and through education over the years, what it takes to be an inclusive photographer.
After the Shoot
Print your memories
I am a strong believer in having photos printed and framed in our homes, there is nothing more important than sharing memories with loved ones.
I offer wedding photography and engagement packages to folks in love, as well as portrait and boudoir photography services.
After the big day, clients can choose to further their experience through print products. Most wedding packages include a print credit, and you can always add one on to any portrait package.
Please inquire for more information on print product, I’d be happy to send you my price list.
