Lavendar Farm Lovin - Colby Wedding July 14 2018

This blog post features a beautiful Ottawa wedding shot using traditional 35mm film photography as always. Although I do bring a second shooter with me to weddings, I don't feature these images on my website. Everything you see was shot by myself (Kristin Davis, for anyone just tuning in) on film. If you're curious what the entire mixed gallery looks like, just ask, I'm happy to show you!

I started off the day with detail shots while the bride and her girls were getting ready (always a favourite part of the day quite honestly, I'm detail obsessed!). Hannah and Sean's wedding featured absolutely lovely natural details (including pine cone place cards), and seeing as we were on a lavender farm, I deemed it necessary to use some dried lavender in my detail shots. It was a mad scramble to pull down and hide the dress when the groom arrived early, but totally worth it!

Once the bride was ready, the day proceeded smoothly and just kept on getting better! Between a stunning venue, lots of laughter, and a couple who love nothing more than being goofballs, I couldn't have asked for a better day. The Ceremony took place on the groom's family farm in Carp, and as guests arrived they kept cool under the shade of a huge willow tree where refreshing cocktails were served. The bride was walked down the aisle by her grandmother in a timeless lace gown to meet her fiancee under a beautiful alter overlooking the hills of the Ottawa Valley. The happy newly weds left the alter showered with bubbles and love from their family and friends.

After having a great time on the lavender farm for bridal portraits (seriously, what more could I ask for?) we headed down the street to Irish Hills Golf Club for dinner and celebrations! The decor was simple and bright featuring natural elements, golds, lavender and greens.

Their beautiful classic white cake featured the cutest cake topper I have yet to come across - "nuts about you" with dancing chipmunks!! And of course I dragged them outside again at the golf course to steal just 10 more minutes of portraits.. What an absolutely lovely wedding.

Thanks goes out to Hannah and Sean for choosing me to document this special day <3
